Abstract
El estudio se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental y de tipo descriptiva simple. Tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de la competencia indaga mediante métodos científicos para construir los conocimientos en los estudiantes del 5to año del nivel secundaria de los colegios de la congregación vicentina en el año 2024. Esta investigación es significativa porque permite evaluar el desarrollo de la competencia en estudiantes próximos a iniciar estudios superiores. Es relevante dado que la competencia de indagación científica es crucial para el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico y la alfabetización científica en el contexto educativo peruano.
La muestra fue de 204 estudiantes, a quienes se les aplicó un instrumento denominado Evaluación diagnóstica de Ciencia y Tecnología de la investigadora Ana Marisol Moreno Flores. El resultado indica que el 50.0% de los estudiantes alcanzaron el nivel Logrado en la competencia indaga mediante métodos científicos, es decir que 102 estudiantes obtuvieron un calificativo de 31 a 45 puntos. En conclusión, la mayoría de los estudiantes son capaces de formular preguntas investigables complejas, diseñar y conducir experimentos controlados, analizar datos utilizando herramientas apropiadas, y comunicar sus resultados de manera clara y precisa. La recomendación va dirigida a los docentes, fortalecer sus competencias en el área de Ciencia y Tecnología mediante círculos de estudio o el llamado estudio de las clases que les permitan innovar y validar diversas estrategias para el desarrollo de la competencia indaga mediante métodos científicos.
The study employed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, simple descriptive design. Its objective was to determine the level of scientific inquiry competency for knowledge construction among fifth-year secondary students at Vincentian congregation schools in 2024. This research is significant as it evaluates the development of fundamental scientific skills in students approaching higher education. It is relevant given that scientific inquiry competency is crucial for developing critical thinking and scientific literacy in the Peruvian educational context. The sample consisted of 204 students who were administered an instrument called "Diagnostic Assessment of Science and Technology" developed by researcher Ana Marisol Moreno Flores. Results indicate that 50.0% of students achieved the "Accomplished" level in scientific inquiry competency, meaning between 102 students scored between 31 and 45 points. In conclusion, most students demonstrate the ability to formulate complex investigable questions, design and conduct controlled experiments, analyse data using appropriate tools, and communicate their findings clearly and precisely. The recommendation for teachers is to strengthen their competencies in Science and Technology through study circles or lesson study approaches that enable them to innovate and validate various strategies for developing scientific inquiry competency.
