Abstract
La presente investigación se centró en la aplicación del modelo de aprendizaje Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) con el propósito de fortalecer la construcción de la identidad en estudiantes del quinto grado de Educación Primaria. El estudio se desarrolló en el año 2025, en una Institución Educativa de Gestión Pública por convenio, ubicada en el distrito de Santiago de Surco, bajo la modalidad de innovación educativa, con enfoque cualitativo y diseño de investigación-acción de nivel explicativo. La población estuvo conformada por 27 estudiantes. Para la recolección de datos se empleó la técnica de observación directa y como instrumentos una guía de observación, un diario de campo y un focus group. Los resultados evidenciaron avances en el reconocimiento de cualidades personales, la expresión emocional, la interiorización de valores y la reflexión sobre la identidad individual y colectiva. Asimismo, se identificó mayor disposición para establecer metas personales y asumir compromisos orientados al bienestar propio y colectivo. La aplicación del modelo SEL permitió generar espacios seguros de expresión emocional y diálogo reflexivo, lo cual impactó positivamente en el desarrollo de la competencia “Construye su identidad”. Se concluye que el modelo SEL constituye una herramienta eficaz para promover el
desarrollo integral del estudiante.
This research focused on the application of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) model with the aim of strengthening identity building in fifth-grade primary school students. The study was conducted in 2025 at a public educational institution located in the district of Santiago de Surco, under an educational innovation agreement, using a qualitative approach and an explanatory action research design. The population consisted of 27 students. Data collection was carried out using direct observation techniques and instruments such as an observation guide, a field diary, and a focus group. The results showed progress in the recognition of personal qualities, emotional expression, the internalization of values, and reflection on individual and collective identity. Likewise, a greater willingness to set personal goals and make commitments oriented toward personal and collective well-being was identified. The application of the SEL model made it possible to create safe spaces for emotional expression and reflective dialogue, which had a positive impact on the development of the “Build your identity” competency. It is concluded that the SEL model is an effective tool for promoting the comprehensive development of students.
