Abstract
This was an applied research study with a quantitative approach, whose objective was to test the effectiveness of gamification in the development of social skills in 5-year-old children at the El Milagro Private Educational Institution in the district of Chorrillos. The observation technique was used, employing a checklist based on indicators related to basic and advanced social skills, as well as criteria derived from the phases of gamification. The intervention was based on playful activities adapted to the students' educational context, creating a participatory, motivating, and meaningful environment. The research design was pre-experimental with the application of a pre-test and post-test in a single group, which allowed for the measurement of the increase in social skills after the implementation of the strategy. The participation of the children, compliance with rules, collaboration, empathy, and self-regulation during the gamified sessions were considered. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that gamification-based methodology is an effective strategy for enhancing the development of social skills in early childhood, promoting emotional growth, positive interaction, and cooperative learning in children.
