Abstract

Its main objective is to describe the role of families in the education of primary school students in three educational institutions in Metropolitan Lima. The sample was made up of families from these institutions. To support the study, the authors Sarmiento and Zapata were taken as a reference, who highlight the relevance of family participation in education and propose four dimensions to measure their involvement: family support in the students' school experience, communication between the family and the school, participation in educational management and school activities, and the integration of communication to strengthen the students' educational experience. The research adopts a quantitative approach, with a simple descriptive design. The technique used was the survey, and the instrument used, a questionnaire. The results obtained were mostly favorable, which shows a level of positive involvement by families in the educational process. However, the need to implement strategies that promote a more active and constant participation of families in the various dimensions of the educational process was also identified. This study underlines the importance of strengthening the ties between family and school to improve the educational experience of students and promote their comprehensive development.
