Abstract
estadísticos; identificar variables; analizar situaciones aleatorias; y
emplear procedimientos y estrategias para recopilar, procesar y
examinar datos.
presentan estrategias orientadas a fortalecer dicho pensamiento.
In Basic Education, students develop various skills related to data handling, such as representing, reading, and interpreting information in statistical tables and graphs; identifying variables; analyzing random situations; and applying procedures and strategies to collect, process, and examine data. Students are also expected to draw conclusions and justify them based on the information obtained from data analysis. These abilities contribute to achieving the competency Solves data management and uncertainty problems and, collectively, promote the development of statistical thinking, which is essential for making informed decisions based on available information. Within this context, the documentary research aims to explain the importance of statistical thinking, recognizing that it responds to a learning need that must be addressed in teaching practices. In addition, several strategies for fostering this type of thinking are presented. In this way, the study seeks to provide guidance that enables both pre-service students and in-service teachers to understand and apply appropriate approaches for the development of statistical thinking.
