Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar las características de la social media en la formación ciudadana de 362 estudiantes de cuarto de secundaria de cuatro instituciones educativas ubicadas en Lima Metropolitana. Fue un estudio de diseño descriptivo, tipo simple y de enfoque cuantitativo. Se aplicó un cuestionario a los estudiantes para recoger información sobre su interacción con los sitios web, las redes sociales y los influencers.
Los resultados mostraron que los sitios web y las redes sociales juegan un papel primordial en la formación ciudadana de los adolescentes. Les permiten informarse, intercambiar ideas, debatir y participar como ciudadanos. Por otro lado, se evidenció la influencia de los influencers en la opinión y comportamiento de los jóvenes. Se concluye que la social media tiene un efecto significativo en la formación ciudadana de los estudiantes. Es necesario un uso responsable de estas plataformas y modelos de influencia positiva.
The present research aimed to determine the characteristics of social media in the civic education of 362 fourth-year high school students from four schools in Metropolitan Lima. It was a descriptive design study, simple type and with a quantitative approach. A questionnaire was applied to the students to collect information about their interaction with websites, social networks and influencers. The results showed that websites and social networks play a fundamental role in he civic education of teenagers. They allow them to get informed, exchange ideas, debate and participate as citizens. On the other hand, the influence of influencers on the opinion and behavior of young people was evident. It is concluded that social media has a significant effect on students' civic education. Responsible use of these platforms and models of positive influence is necessary.
