Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad comprender el discurso como estrategia eficaz en la expresión oral para estudiantes de secundaria. El estudio de carácter documental se desarrolló en base a una revisión bibliográfica y análisis teórico, aplicando la técnica del fichaje para contrastar definiciones, características y aplicaciones del discurso en contextos educativos. Se identificó que la falta de habilidades de expresión oral afecta significativamente el desempeño académico y social de los estudiantes, situación evidenciada en instituciones públicas como la I. E. Brígida Silva de Ochoa en Chorrillos. A través del análisis de diversas fuentes, se comprendió al discurso como una herramienta comunicativa integral, que articula aspectos lingüísticos y no verbales; asimismo, se caracterizó su aplicación en el contexto escolar y se explicó su valor como recurso didáctico. Se concluye que el discurso contribuye a organizar y expresar ideas con coherencia, fortalece la fluidez verbal, favorece el uso adecuado del lenguaje corporal y promueve la seguridad al hablar en público. Por ello, se concluye que es una estrategia clave en la mejora de la competencia oral. Se recomienda su incorporación sistemática mediante actividades como debates, presentaciones orales y exposiciones en el aula.
This research aimed to understand discourse as an effective strategy for oral expression in high school students. The documentary-based study was developed through a bibliographic review and theoretical analysis, using the note-taking technique to compare definitions, characteristics, and applications of discourse in educational contexts. It was identified that the lack of oral expression skills significantly affects students' academic and social performance, a situation evident in public institutions such as I. E. Brígida Silva de Ochoa in Chorrillos. Through the analysis of various sources, discourse was understood as a comprehensive communicative tool that integrates both linguistic and non-verbal aspects. Additionally, its application in the school context was characterized, and its value as a teaching resource was explained. The study concluded that discourse helps organize and express ideas coherently, increases verbal fluency, enhances the appropriate use of body language, and promotes confidence in public speaking. Therefore, it is concluded that it is a key strategy for improving oral competence. It is recommended to incorporate it systematically through activities such as debates, oral presentations, and classroom exposés.
