Abstract
Asimismo, contiene conclusiones, recomendaciones, referencias y anexos.
Critical thinking is one of the most valued skills in today's educational field, as it not only promotes learning, but also contributes to the development of individuals' ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively. The choice of this topic responds to the need to assess the extent to which high school students are developing critical skills essential for their academic and personal development. The research seeks to determine the level of critical thinking in 5th grade high school students, through a quantitative, non-experimental approach, with a descriptive and cross-sectional design. To do this, the dimensions of critical thinking will be analyzed through a questionnaire instrument, applied to a representative sample, which will allow identifying strengths and weaknesses in these areas without intervening in the students' educational environment. This study aims to provide useful information for teachers, educational administration and parents, with the aim of implementing more effective pedagogical strategies that favor the development of critical thinking in students. In addition, it is intended to contribute to the knowledge of the importance of promoting these skills in the first levels of secondary education, to ensure that students are better prepared. The research is structured as follows: The introduction is made up of the problem statement, the formulation of the problem, justification, limitations and international and national background. In chapter I, the theoretical framework is presented, which contains the theoretical bases of the variable, the main conceptions of various authors regarding critical thinking. In chapter II, the research methodology is described, which includes research design, research objectives, research modality, approach, design and type, operationalization of variables, hypothesis system, methodology used, analysis and interpretation of results, descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. It also contains conclusions, recommendations, references and annexes.
